The Use of Symbols and GAIA NOVA

Do you use symbols, or is it the other way around?

Since the first spark of human consciousness, humanity has used symbols to make sense of the world around us. The translation of the outer world into symbols represents an attempt to internalize what seemed sensorily separate into an integrated part of a personal story. Therefore symbols such as words, the characters and utterances which create them, or images of any kind aren’t arbitrary: they are tools which shape the ideas and passions of our inner world which will eventually inform behavior in society and form culture at large.

But the current state of affairs suggests that the majority of modern humanity is subject to culture using symbols, rather than master of the symbols which yield culture. Since the first television entered the home, the populace has been continually and inadvertently exposed to symbols which were chosen for it, unfortunately/regularly to the detriment of peoples’ health. The symbols used by mass media often represent polarized, incomplete, emotional ideas, entrapping the unassuming audience into a self-limiting identity associated with those ideas.

This phenomenon is a form of subconscious bias affecting the conscious mind. It’s a tremendous power which ought only be given to ourselves and our highest ideals. GAIA NOVA was created with the intention of shifting the subconscious story of the masses from one of self-limiting identity to one of transcendence of identity by using the same avenues of media and consumerism which have corrupted. In creating products, services, art, and experiences that unify people with others and with themselves, GAIA NOVA is dedicated to creating a culture whose symbols inspire radical vitality with minimal effort. We believe that creating a New Earth is as simple as changing your mind or purchasing a different bottle of water.

Have you heard of the Ocean Spiral? It’s a bold concept imagining a 500-meter-wide floating sphere, tethered to the ocean floor by a 15-kilometer spiral, designed to house up to 5,000 people in a fully self-sustaining marine habitat. The structure would integrate residential, commercial, and research zones within the sphere, while the deep-sea base focuses on harvesting energy and minerals from the ocean floor. It envisions a desalination system powered by micro-organisms that convert CO₂ into methane, creating energy and drawing drinking water directly from the sea. The Ocean Spiral concept demonstrates a future where we need not escape or conquer Earth, but integrate with and adapt to her.
