A New Thought [GAIA NOVA]

Dear friend,

If there is an answer, it will only be born from a new thought.

A new season is upon us, bringing forth new life, new cycles, and new thoughts. A new thought is the source of every action, each action the source of change in the world. Human thought represents an astonishing power, where in the quiet of our mind we generate the potential to alter reality. In ancient times, groups of people came together to form their thoughts collectively, typically near bodies of flowing water, where they built homes and worked together for the prospect of fruitful life.

Their collective thinking, hoping, and working generated incredible potential indeed, rendering an abundance which led to civilization as a way of life which persisted through millennia. From our ancestors’ collective thoughts into civilizations, civilization birthed philosophy, art, science, and architecture: practices which became the foundation for the life of the homo sapien sapien: the twice thinking human. We find ourselves as beneficiaries and living proof of what a new thought is and can be.

Beautiful as it may sound, the ever-complexifying thoughts generated from the bounty of civilization have led to confusion, nihilism, and uncertainty worldwide. Our process of involution through thought continues to cause an excessive abstraction of the question of Life; subsequently, humanity extracts itself from life’s processes on Earth in its quest for an answer, destroying ecosystems in the process.

Children of Gaia Nova seeks to represent a new thought, capable of decomplexifying modernity while evolving our species. We believe it’s possible through friendship. Thanks for taking the time to read these words from your friend. One of the most inspiring manifestations of a new thought we see on Earth today is The Great Green Wall of Africa.

As Earth realizes record-high temperatures across her surface, we observe the rapid expansion of the Sahara Desert, which is already the largest hot desert in the world. Its expansion southward has led to overgrazing, deforestation, displaced animals, and displaced humans who lose arable land to the desertification. In an effort to (literally) save the continent, The African Union began what once seemed like an impossible project: a line of trees across the width of the continent. But what seemed like an unworkable dream is turning into a realized world wonder spanning 8,000 kilometers. If you have ten minutes and some extra attention to spare after this longer letter, please enjoy a short documentary about The Great Green Wall of Africa here.

With Love,
